Switch Online Free NES and SNES Games are Now Available

Nintendo Launched the Switch Online service for $20 annual price and it was supposed to be a mini-version of PlayStation Plus and XBOX Live Gold. Subscribers of the Switch Online get online multiplayer, cloud save storage, and access to a library of NES and SNES retro games.

Unlike the PS Plus and XBOX Live Gold services, Switch Online does not have any fixed schedule or number of retro games coming to the service every month. In recent months, the rate of new additions to the service has certainly slowed down a bit.

However, February’s free games to Switch Online catalog has added four new titles to NEW and SNES Collection. The games joining the NES lineup on Nintendo Switch includes – Eliminator Boat Duel and Shadow of the Ninja. Eliminator Boat Duel is, as the name suggests, a multiplayer powerboat racing game. On the other hand, Shadow of the Ninja is a side-scrolling co-op game that resembles the popular Ninja Gaiden series a lot.

On the side of the SNES library on Nintendo Switch, the games added include the sports game Smach Tennis and a top-down shooter game titled Pop’n TwinBee. One interesting thing about both of these SNES games is that with their addition to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, it marks their debut in the North American market.
