SEGA’s Judgment, from the developers of the Yakuza series, is heading to the
west in 2019 as Announced at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase.

Formerly known as Project JUDGE, judgement introduces Yagami, an exlawyer who now runs a detective bureau.

In the new trailer Takayuki Yagami will be seen investigating a series of three
murders of Yakuza who all had their eyes removed.

While Judgment won’t feature any characters from the Yakuza series, they are
both set in a shared universe and this newest title takes place in Kamurocho,
the fictional Tokyo district from the Yakuza series.

Studio head and project lead Toshihiro Nagoshi. Has announced that having
cameos “could draw people out of this new experience, so that’s why I didn’t
want to include them.”

When Judgment arrives in the west on PlayStation 4, it will do so with the
original Japanese VO and an English dub, the first in a Yakuza universe title
since the original Yakuza for PlayStation 2 in 2006.
